Version 2 - Lefranc’s version: “I went again to Limoges where the German authorities gave me the truck containing the 23 crates from the Château de Chambon, after having made me see that the seals placed at the start were intact. The crates were deposited by me at the Banque de France branch in Limoges, in the presence of its Director who, at my request, also noted that the seals were intact, before I broke them open.”
