Variant 1 - Storage of Schloss collection at Banque de France in Limoges

Variant 1 - Favier attempted to remove the Schloss crates from Chambon, despite Musso’s measures to obstruct such a move. Musso had consulted with the gendarmerie which intercepted the truck several kilometers from the entrance to Masseret. Musso was later transferred to another position. Police commissaire Mann was revoked of his duties, the result of Lefranc’s interventions. The collection was eventually stored at the Banque de France in Limoges pending further decisions as to its fate.
