Transfer of the Schloss collection from Paris to the Château de Chambon at Laguenne in the Corrèze

On 19 August 1939 the Schloss collection left Paris in a truck driven by Mr. Nériec. The 333 paintings were packed into crates labeled property of Dr. Weil in order to safeguard the identity of the true owners. Along with the Schloss paintings were works belonging to Dr. Weil and his wife Juliette Schloss.
