The Director of Economic Aryanization at CGQJ informed Darquier de Pellepoix that Lefranc had sent him a detailed report concerning the Schloss collection. In it, he explained that he had organized two sales—one to the Louvre, the other to the German Embassy. 50 million francs were deposited for the latter sale in an account opened in Lefranc’s name at the Banque de France. Meanwhile, the Banque Jordaan asked to be reimbursed for maintenance and safeguarding of the Schloss collection from 1939 to 1943 to the tune of 400,000francs.
