An inventory referred to as the “Lefranc inventory” was drawn up at some point in the summer of 1943. Where it was typed is unclear. One possibility is that Lefranc ordered it drawn up while the paintings were languishing in Limoges after their confiscation and removal from the Chateau de Chambon in Laguenne. It is a typed inventory with many mistakes and omissions. In general, it is a sparser version of the Dreyfus bank inventory. Its citation is ex-AMN-PARIS-R32-3-3-Inventaires-Liste 1943 at the Archives Nationales in the records of the AMN.
