Laval briefed by Musso at Vichy about the situation at Chambon

The Préfet de la Corrèze, Jean Musso, arrived at Vichy to attend a “déjeuner des préfets.” After the lunch, he wished to brief Pierre Laval about the situation at Chambon. Musso spoke briefly with Laval after the Prefect Luncheon. Laval advised him to return later in the day and speak with his underling, Mr. Guérard. The latter turned out to be busy so he was foisted onto Abel Bonnard. Guérard told Musso not to do anything with the paintings until he had received word from Abel Bonnard.
