Léopold Goldschmidt

Léopold Goldschmidt, originally from Frankfurt, was a banker. He lived in Paris with his wife Régine Bischoffsheim (1834-1905), a member of the Bischoffsheim banking family of Belgium/UK/France. He was an art collector and is mentioned in the provenance of the painting Paysage et effet du soir by Aert van der Neer (Schloss German no. 158/ French no. 184) that is currently in the collection of the Kunsthaus Zurich as well as in the provenance of the painting A winter scene by Jan van de Cappelle which Adolphe Schloss sold during his lifetime.
