Etienne-Edmond-Martin, baron de Beurnonville, was born in Paris to General Etienne Martin de Beurnonville (1789-1879), who had served under Napoleon I. Baron de Beurnonville accumulated a large art collection comprising more than 1,000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, objects d’art and furniture.
