Lt. Hugoboom was an American officer with Det. F-213 under OMG Bavaria. He worked with Edgar Breitenbach to recover looted cultural objects and especially those which had been stolen from the Führerbau on the eve of the American military entry into Munich. In the summer of 1945, he collaborated with a French investigator working for the local US Counter-Intelligence Corp unit.
