The Führervorbehalt was the prerogative granted to Hitler, following the decree of the Reich Minister and Head of the Reich Chancellery Hans Heinrich Lammers of 18 June 1938, to make a selection from the seized and confiscated art collections for Hitler’s Führer Museum planned in Linz as well as for public museums and collections.
