Huyghe reminder to Lefranc of preemptive rights by the Louvre for objects or collections of interest

René Huyghe, in a letter to Lefranc, reminded him that the Louvre intended to exercise its preemptive rights over a number of paintings in the Schloss collection. Huyghe argued that he had held numerous discussions with Mrs. Schloss regarding this issue but that her accidental death and the subsequent advent of WWII had sidetracked these negotiations.
