Ernst Buchner in US Army custody

The US Army in Munich took custody of Dr. Ernst Buchner, former Generaldirektor of the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen (Bavarian State Collections). Buchner had been involved in the transfer of the Ghent Altar Piece to Neuschwanstein, an ERR depot in Bavaria. Among papers removed from his office was a list of paintings that were currently located in German depots and which pointed to specific Jewish ownership.
