Einsatzgruppe-led massacres of Jews in Kovno (Kaunas)

Einsatzgruppen (mobile killing units) were deployed along the flanks of the German Army specifically targeting Jewish communities. They rounded up and killed nearly 3,000 Jews at the Seventh Fort, part of a network of 19th-century fortifications surrounding the city of Kovno.
