Duchesse Sofia Sergejevna Troebetskaja

A Russian princess and wife of Charles Auguste Louis Comte de Morny (1811-1865) later styled as Duc de Morny (1852-1865). After her husband’s death in 1865, she sold his art collection. She remarried the Spanish nobleman José Osorio y Silva.

She is mentioned in the provenance of the painting Le joyeux buveur by Adriaen Brouwer (Schloss German no. 31/ French no. 43bis). The painting is not present in the estate sale of Duc de Morny on 31 May - 12 June 1865.
