6am: The convoy resumed its journey to Paris. Gendarmerie units were deployed along the entire route to prevent the same problems as at Tulle and Masseret. It crossed the DMZ at Vierzon. 2:30pm: The convoy reached CGQJ headquaters in Paris. The 23 crates were unloaded and stored in a vault inside the building. According to Barthélémy, the truck driver, Nériec, Jr., allegedly received 500,000 francs from the Germans in exchange for pinpointing the location of the Schloss collection. Lefranc was slated to receive 10 million francs as his commission for liquidating the Schloss collection.
