André Monnot des Angles was appointed by the Tribunal de Commerce de la Seine to be the “administrateur provisoire” of the Schloss export brokerage firm, Adolphe Schloss Fils et Cie., consistent with German ordinances passed by the MbF regarding the seizure and liquidation of Jewish assets. On 12 June 1941, he notified the MbF that the Schloss brothers had settled at the “Hôtel Royal” in Nice after a failed attempt to restart their business in Bordeaux.
