Charles-Marie-Étienne-Eugène Azam was a French surgeon from Bordeaux who specialized in psychology. He focused on one case that involved a female patient he named “Félida X” who seemed to have “alternating personalities”, a condition he labeled “doublement de la vie”. Mr Azam was also a collector of art and ceramics. He married the Dutch Anne Suzanne Rolland, granddaughter of the Dutch merchant Beker Terlinck, who had inherited Dutch paintings. They lived in rue Vital-Carles in Bordeaux.
