Massacre of 34000 Jews at the ravines of Babi Yar near Kiev
On 29 and 30 September 1941, Einsatzgruppen liquidation squads, SS elements and local Ukrainian auxiliaries herded about 34,000 Jews to the ravines of Babi Yar, outside of Kiev, and systematically murdered them, often at close range.
