    Eugène Fischof, a native of Austria, was an art collector and horse breeder, known as one of the best racing men in France. He owned the Paris based Galerie Fischof. On 8 April 1885, Fischof married Emma Sedelmeyer (born 7 April,1862 in Vienna), daughter of art expert and gallery owner, Charles Sedelmeyer.
