Dienststelle Westen

The “Dienststelle Westen” was part of the Reichsministerium für die besetzten Ostgebiete (Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories). While the main focus of the Ministry were the territories in the East, the Amt Westen specifically dealt with Western Europe. The M-Aktion, or Möbel-Aktion organized by the Dienststelle looted furniture and other moveable properties from Jewish homes who either had escaped or had been deported from France or the Benelux countries. The Dienststelle Westen collaborated with the ERR, with the Dienststelle agreeing to delivering to the ERR artworks and musical instruments looted as part of the M-Akion. Kurt von Behr served as the head of the Dienststelle Westen.
