Isabella Clara van Simpelvelt was the second wife of Jacomo de Wit, an art dealer, collector and wine merchant in Antwerp. Her husband died on 5 July 1721. He bequeathed his art collection to his wife. She died on 30 September 1740.

Isabella Clara is mentioned in the provenance of the painting Résurrection de Lazare by Peter Paul Rubens (Schloss German no. 187/ French no. 22). The picture was sold at her sale on 15 May - June 1741 in Antwerp.
