French art dealer, considered to be the most important art dealer of the 19th century. He supported impressionists painters, Claude Monet and Pierre-August Renoir among others.

Paul Durand-Ruel is mentioned as one of the auctioneers in the sale of L. Tabourier on 20-22 June 1898 in Paris, in which the painting Portrait of a woman painter by Gabriel Metsu was sold.
