Désiré van den Schrieck was a lawyer and art collector. He was primarily interested in Dutch and Flemish 17th century paintings. He is mentioned in the provenance of the painting _Deposition of the Cross_ attributed to the School of Peter Paul Rubens (Schloss German no. 185/ French no. 219).
