Emmerich Joseph, Duc d’Alberg, was a German diplomat and a naturalized French citizen. He was made duke of the Empire as duc de Dalberg. The painting _Scène d’intérieur_ by Jan Steen (Schloss German no. 200/ French no. 240) was owned by Duc d’Alberg and was sold at Christie’s London, 13-14 June, 1817.
