Founded by Jewish art collector and antiquarian Abraham Pickert (1783-1870). His sons, Sigmund (1825-1893), Max (1836-1912) and Julius took over his business after his death. Abraham Pickert opened his business in Fürth, first at Bäumenstrasse 132, eventually at Upper Königstraße no. 403 (today Königstrasse 130).
