Charles Brind was a wine merchant and a member of the Goldsmiths' Company. He was an art collector focused on 17th century Dutch Old Masters as Wynants and Steen. His collection sold at Christies in 12 May 1849. Charles Brind was a previous owner/possessor of the painting _Paysage_ by Jan Wynants [Jan Wijnants] (Schloss German no. 249/ French no. 293).
