Sigmund Pickert was the son of Abraham Pickert (1783-1870). He was a renowned Jewish art dealer and antiquarian. His father founded his business as an antiquarian and art dealer in Fürth and later continued in Nuremberg. After the death of his father in 1870, Sigmund Pickert and his brothers, Max (1836-1912) and Julius, continued the business. Sigmund counted many prominent collectors and museum
