Philippus van der Schley was a Dutch draftsman, art teacher, etcher, engraver (printmaker) and art dealer. By 1739, van der Schley was taught in engraving by his brother Jacobus, who employed him for 14 years. He was also self employed in teaching, and would later call himself the 'broker in works of art'. For more information, please see: <https://rkd.nl/explore/artists/70618>. Accessed 4 June 2
