Ferdinand Hermann was a New York art collector and banker, and a member of the firm Speyer & Co. Seventy paintings from the Hermann collection were auctioned in New York at the Plaza Hotel by the American Art Association, in 1918. He is mentioned in the provenance of the painting _Die Ehebrecherin_ by Lucas Cranach the Elder, which was in the Adolphe Schloss collection until 1908. Link: <https:/
