After receiving a tip from Wilhelm Hozzel, a Munich art dealer, Kriminalpolizei (KRIPO) agents recovered Schloss 5, which had been buried in soil in a vegetable plot belonging to a Mr. Faulhaber at Arcistrasse 25 by Christine Hausser [Hauser]. The painting was “completely white” and was restored at the MCCP before being repatriated to Paris. Two other paintings from the Schloss collection were recovered from the same location.
