<p><b>New page</b></p><div>Germain Bazin testified under oath that he did not “know” Lefranc, but that he did go to his gallery. There, he spoke with him about the fact that the Louvre had a hard time finding high-quality objects to purchase. Lefranc, over the course of two subsequent encounters, informed him about the Schloss collection and that the Germans were willing to share some of the collection with the Louvre. Bazin replied that he was not sharing anything with the Germans and that the Louvre would exercise its right of preemption in order to gain control of the Schloss paintings.</div>WikibaseAdmin
