New page

Louis-Auguste Angran Vicomte de Fonspertuis was a French courtier, soldier and art collector. His uncle Du Vivier bequeathed him his art collection of paintings, curiosities and East Asian porcelain. After Fonspertuis’ death in 1747 his collection was sold between December 1747 and March 1748.

He is mentioned in the provenance of the Painting ''Flora'' by Govert Flinck, then attributed to Rembrandt. The picture was sold at his sale on 3 March 1748 in Paris and purchased by Augustin Blondel de Gagny. Adolphe Schloss sold the picture to art dealer Franz Kleinberger on 3 February 1908.
