New page

Founded by Franz Kleinberger in 1883 at 9 Rue de l’Echelle in Paris and opened in 1910 another branch in New York at Fifth Avenue as Franz Kleinberger & Co. After World War I he made New York his headquarters. F. Kleinberger & Co had close connections with art dealers Emil M. Sperling (d. 1930) and his son Harry G. Sperling (1906-1971). After the death of Kleinberger, Harry G. Sperling became the owner of F. Kleinberger Galleries. The gallery closed after the death of Sperling in 1971.
