In 1910, Hans Posse was appointed director of the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister. In 1939, Hitler named Posse head of the Sonderauftrag Linz. After Posse’s death in 1942, he was succeeded by Hermann Voss, both as head of the Dresden Gallery and head of the Sonderauftrag Linz.</div>
